IoT Automation was engaged by a large underground copper/gold block cave mine in Papua, Indonesia to develop an improved real-time warning and evacuation alert system. Upon gathering operational data, the IoT team identified the FireFly Smart Lighting System as the best solution.

IoT installed 1,200 FireFly lights across the block cave mine’s undercut and extraction level tunnels. Through intelligent illumination, FireFly provides real-time guidance lighting and communicates critical information to underground mine workers.
