Built for Underground Mining & Tunnelling

The FireFly Siren is engineered for durability and simplicity. Its compact, robust design allows it to withstand harsh production areas while remaining easy to deploy anywhere along existing FireFly lighting strings. Using the standard FireFly connector, installation is plug-and-play, minimising disruption and enabling rapid scaling across headings, declines or fixed plant locations.

Power efficiency is a core part of the design. Operating on 12–60VDC at just 4W, the module ensures reliable performance without placing additional strain on site power infrastructure. An integrated Li-Po battery backup provides up between 4-6 hours of runtime, ensuring alerts remain active even during power interruptions.

Connectivity that Enables Smarter Safety

The FireFly Siren is more than just your traditional siren. With Wi-Fi (802.11b/g/n) and Bluetooth Low Energy connectivity, it becomes part of the broader IoT Automation network, enabling remote configuration, automation and seamless integration with other safety and emergency response systems.

Through the IoT Hive web platform, teams can customise, schedule and automate tones across the entire site. Whether it’s a pre-blast countdown, an all-clear signal or an emergency evacuation tone, the FireFly Siren keeps communication consistent and coordinated.

Underground operations rely on clear communication during critical events as well as day-to-day operations. The FireFly Siren can support up to five programmable and fully customisable tones for scenarios, for example:
