IoT Automation’s DragonFly Smart Lighting module has been honoured with two Australian Good Design Awards, winning in both the Product Design – Commercial and Industrial and Engineering Design categories. These accolades highlight DragonFly’s contribution to underground safety and its standout performance in industrial innovation.
Purpose-built for tunnelling and mining, DragonFly is a rugged, plug-and-play lighting system that improves visibility and reduces risk in demanding environments. Its smart features enable remote monitoring and control, helping teams manage lighting across complex sites with ease.
The Good Design Awards jury commended DragonFly as:
“A well-executed piece of Industrial Design, fit for purpose in the environment that it is designed for. A thoughtful adaptation of existing technologies for underground environments. All round clever design with real impact.”
Announced during Good Design Awards Week at ICC Sydney, the recognition places IoT Automation among Australia’s leading design innovators. This year’s theme, Design for Better, celebrated projects that drive meaningful change for people, planet and industry.
For IoT Automation, the awards are a proud milestone and a meaningful endorsement of our mission to deliver technology that works where it matters most. We’re grateful to the Good Design Awards for recognising DragonFly and we remain committed to designing solutions that elevate safety, efficiency and reliability across mining operations.
As mining operations continue to prioritise safety and efficiency, DragonFly offers a smart, scalable solution that is designed to perform and built to last.
